Naivex contains Dolutegravir as an active substance and it belongs to a group of integrase inhibitors. Naivex is available in the form of a tablet and a strength of 50mg and it is indicated for the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). This tablet works by preventing the spread of the virus in the body and helps in increasing the number of immune cells to fight against the infection. Monitoring of liver function is recommended during treatment with Naivex (Dolutegravir).
PharmacologyHIV-1 infected patients on dolutegravir monotherapy showed rapid and dose-dependent reduction of antiviral action with a reduction in HIV-1 RNA copies per ml. The antiviral response was maintained for about 3 to 4 days post-administration of the last dose. Such sustained response obtained in clinical studies proves that dolutegravir, being the active compound in Naivex, has a tight binding and comparatively longer dissociative half-life giving it a greater barrier to resistance. The combination therapy of ripivirine and dolutegravir indicated the same viral suppression obtained in previous three-drug therapies with no integrase strand transfer inhibitor mutations or rilpivirine resistance.

Inform your healthcare provider or medical practitioner if you are using any other medications before you start treatment with Naivex tablets.
